Welcome to Ballater, an idyllic village in the Eastern Cairngorms.  Perhaps you are looking to explore our small independent shops, or to enjoy a multitude of restaurants from fine dining to excellent pub food and some of the best ethnic restaurants in the area.  Ballater makes the perfect base for exploring Royal Deeside - with Balmoral Castle, the Lochnagar Distillery, standing stones, stone circles, a wealth of castles and historic houses only a short drive away - beautiful scenery awaits you in every direction.  For the more active traveller we have superb walking (both flat and hill), cycling (road and moutain), golfing, nature and stargazing all on our doorstep.

The Gordon Guest House was built in 1868 and was for most of its life a Bank Manager's house situated right in the heart of the village.  We have four large well appointed en suite rooms individually designed and furnished and can sleep up to nine guests.  Each room features a super-king size bed, smart TV and sofa, free Wi-Fi, Fairtrade tea/coffee tray and Scottish snacks.  Our rooms include those which can be presented for single, double, twin or triple occupancy.  We also offer one pet-friendly room so the whole family can come on holiday!  Our ethos combines the traditional values of our house and village with a sustainable, low-impact approach to tourism so that we preserve and enhance the beautiful area we are so fortunate to live in.
