Terms & Conditions

 

Booking – to secure a booking we require a valid debit or credit card with validity beyond your stay date.  No deposit is taken.

 

Cancellation – you may cancel without charge up to 3 days prior to your arrival date.  Any cancellations made with less than 3 days notice, or booking reduction during your stay, or failure to turn-up on your arrival date will be charged the full amount of the stay.  Please review our Covid statement for any additional conditions.

 

Payment – your bill must be settled prior to your final departure from The Gordon.  We can take payment at the end of your stay by credit or debit card or cash.  If you would like to pay in advance we can invoice you or give you bank transfer details.  A wide range of card brands are accepted.

 

Children aged over 12 years are welcome at The Gordon Guest House.

 

Pets and Guide Dogs are only permitted in room 1 which is dog-friendly, but if you intend to bring your pet or guide dog this must be notified to us in advance.  

 

Check in is between 3.00pm and 6.00pm.  If you intend to arrive after 6.00pm and before 10pm please let us know in advance.  Check in after 10 pm is not permitted to minimise disruption to other guests.

 

Check out is by 10.30am on your day of departure.  Guests who depart prior to breakfast are asked to settle their bill the previous day.

 

Early check in (prior to 3.00pm) or late check out (after 10.30am) may be possible subject to room and staff availability.  This is a chargeable service and must be arranged in advance.

 

Breakfast is available 6.00am to 9.00am each day.  Guests are asked to make their breakfast choices and leave them at reception before 8pm the previous night.  Guests who need to leave early (prior to breakfast) will be offered the option of a free packed breakfast of cold items to take away.  This should be arranged in advance. 

 

Rooms – we will always attempt to provide you with the room of your choice.  From time to time under exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to change your room.

 

Any damage to the rooms and their fittings caused by guests either wilfully or accidentally must be reported to us immediately.  Significant breakages or damage will be charged to your payment card.  This includes charges for specialist cleaning or redecoration required.  Removal of items from the rooms will also be charged for their replacement.  Unreported damages discovered after a guest has departed will incur an additional fee of £100.

 

The Gordon is a strictly non-smoking premises.  Any guest found to have been smoking in the building, including e-cigarettes or equivalent,  will be billed a flat £100 cleaning charge without exception.

 

We ask you at all times to be respectful to the Guest House, its staff and other guests.  We may ask you to moderate or cease your behaviour if it is causing disruption to other house users.  Ultimately we will ask you to leave the accommodation – in such a circumstance you are still liable for the cost of your stay and we are not liable for any costs you incur in finding alternative accommodation.

 

Under exceptional circumstances outside our control we may not be able to provide you your booked accommodation or a hot breakfast.  If this were to happen we will make every endeavour to find you alternative accommodation or a local café.  If this is not possible a refund will be provided.

 

We do not accept liability for any injury to guests, or loss or damage to your property during your stay unless caused by a negligent act on our behalf.
